La scrittura come fenomeno estetico in Arthur Schopenhauer
Abstract
Il presente contributo intende presentare la scrittura come fenomeno estetico nella filosofia di Arthur Schopenhauer. A partire dal saggio Sul mestiere dello scrittore e sullo stile (Parerga e Paralipomena) cercherò di argomentare come l’interesse di Schopenhauer per il modo di scrivere costituisca qualcosa di più di un mero esercizio stilistico. Sosterrò che nella filosofia dell’arte di Schopenhauer la scrittura può essere concepita come un’espressione artistica nella quale la volontà si manifesta con un elevato grado di oggettivazione. A partire da questa ipotesi si concluderà quindi che la scrittura costituisce non soltanto uno strumento di fruizione del bello ma anche di cognizione, che nella metafisica schopenhaueriana rappresenta l’unico mezzo che può negare la volontà.
This paper aims to explore writing as an aesthetic phenomenon within Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophy. Drawing upon the essay On Writing and Style (Parerga and Paralipomena), I will argue that Schopenhauer’s interest in the act of writing represents more than a mere stylistic exercise. I will show how, in Schopenhauer’s philosophy of art, writing can be understood as an artistic expression in which the Will manifests itself through a high degree of objectification. Based on this hypothesis, the work concludes that writing constitutes not only a vehicle for aesthetic contemplation but also a cognitive instrument which, in Schopenhauerian metaphysics, serves as the ultimate means for the negation of the Will.
